I have "version one". On that version, what appears to be some type of rubber material covering the control mechanism, it "rubbed" away on the "+" volume control thereby making it inoperable. That material is not used on this version, it's plastic instead. The plastic doesn't feel robust but I certainly expect it to last longer than the above mentioned.
Sound quality is good, maybe an "uptick" also from the first version.

Definitely pleased with these headphones. Great sound and bass response. The design they came up with to "lock" the earbuds in your ear canal works. Make sure you use the tips that fit your ears. As of this writing, these headphones are longer available at Best Buy.

I bought three. I returned two of them and exchanged one. The device cradle open and close mechanism stop working properly, it would no longer clamp onto my device.
