My hearing isn't the greatest and I wanted a sound bar to improve the mediocre sound from my television.
The LG is a vast improvement. With a great range of adjustments for voice or movies, this was ideal for me.
Unfortunately, when watching network TV, the sound drops out on occasion. I was told that this was due to Time Warner cable and their digital signal. It doesn't have this issue when viewing DVDs or using my Roku box, so it must really be the terrible service from TIme Warner...
I would recommend this to a friend!

What's great about it: Easy to set up
I tried a similar product from Netgear which wouldn't work and their customer support was atrocious. I took a suggestion from a Bst Buy employee and bought the Roku.
Very simple to set up and it worked properly on the first try.
I would recommend this to anyone!

I wear hearing aids but find I have a difficult time understanding dialog on a lot of TV programs. will a sound bar help?

It has helped me a bit. You can adjust the levels on a sound bar more than you can with the TV.
You may also want to think about using headphones.
