I'm a mobile professional DJ and frequently use the Beats by Dr. Dre headphones. Which means the audio cable is used occasionally and put to the test professionally almost daily. I've owned my headphones for over 2 years and just recently needed to replace the cable. It really exceeded my expectations for durability and quality over the past 24 months. They are my preferred choice of headphones with exceptional sound. It's an excellent buy both professionally or personal use.

Can this cable be used to connect a cable box and IR repeater system?

I had a cable box in cabinet hooked to an IR Repeater system. Old cable box had NO IR input, so we had an "eye" taped onto remote receiver lens on front of cable box, male end of cable went into power supply transition for IR. Out of this power supply, a line goes through wall and comes out by TV with lens to aim remote at. With new cable box, there is an IR jack. I need male/male cable to go from cable box to IR repeater system. Jack on IR is 1/8” – 3.5MM. Will this cable work?
If both female ports are audio in/out jacks, there should not been an issue using this cable. However, I did not understand your comment above regarding "out of this power supply". If you are attempting to use this cable as a power source, it most likely will not work. I suggest taking the device to a local retailer electronics store such as Best Buy or Radio Shack to best match up the intended cables with the assistance of a specialist in that department. I hope this assisted you.
