What's great about it: Fits well in the corner to save space.
Our last microwave of the same 1000 watts made our electric box buzz. This one does not! We have plenty of height inside to stack containers to heat food. Nice choice of touch buttons for 1 touch heating . Defrost, power & cooking buttons are easy to use. Same cubic feet as our last one but a little smaller so it fits better on our counter. Room to cook corn on the cob & use our round bacon tray on the turntable. And we could buy it in white.. Wish we had bought the Sharp before instead of the Hamilton Beach that quit after 13 months!

why doesnt the zero button work??
BOUGHT THIS FOR MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER WHO LIVES 300 MILES AWAY ..SHE CANT PUT IN 10 MINUTES BECAUSE THE ZERO BUTTON SAY KITCHEN TIMER ON TOP OF BUTTON AND WHEN SHE PRESSES IT TIMER COMES ONNOT THE ZERO SHE NEEDS..CALLED SERVICE DEPT AND THEY SAID THE R-309YK SERIES DOESNT HAVE A BUTTON THAT SAYS KITCHEN TIMER..I BOUGHT THIS BECAUSE IT WAS SIMPLE THE PICTURE OF THE CONTROLS DOESNT SHOW KITCHEN TIMER WORDING ABOVE THE ZERO BUTTON..NOT SURE WHATS GOING ON BUT THIS IS NOT THE MICROWAVE PICTURED..WOULD LIKE THE ZERO BUTTON WITHOUT THE KITCHEN TIMER ON IT..
My Sharp 1.1 cu ft. mid size has a 0 button just under the words kitchen timer. I just push 1000 then START so 10:00 (minutes) shows on the screen & cooking begins. If that does not work then it must be a "lemon". Hope this helps your mom. .
