I assume that if you are interested in this speaker, then you either own or are interested in the bookshelf or tower version of the same Sony speaker series. This is what I believe to be the weak link in the core series. Not as good as the bookshelves. If you want a matching center channel, see if you can by a single SSCS5 bookshelf to function as a center speaker

I wasn't sure about Sony speakers at first. I got mine on anopen box for $130. Sounded better than the klipsch (the klipsch were more expenseive too). A very warm natural sound. These are great entry level audiophile sound.

If you just want an upgrade from your HTIB with these or want to use these as surrounds, then that is fine but if you have a good ear then these arent that great. For the price on sale it might be worth it for $50-70 but anything more than that I wouldnt touch. It is night and day the difference when you listen to another set of speakers. Clarity is decent, bass and mids and highs are muffled. I am no audiophile but these are just my two cents
