What's great about it: Good footprint and real estate
What's not so great: Doesn't fully support some higher resolutions
A good monitor overall - doesn't completely support some higher resolutions (letter boxes a few) and I've had some issues with some text displaying properly. All in all though, a good purchase. I use it for work and thus far like it.
This product has... Attractive design, Easy to setup, Difficult to adjust/use buttons

You can't - it's locked into one position.

Since this is advertised as HDMI, what kind of a cable do I need to hook this up to my laptop?

There is not an HDMI outlet on the monitor.
Nancy, it would depend on what your computer has. Go to a store, tell them what kind of computer you have (or point and say "I have an interface like this one") and tell them you need to connect to this monitor.

Is this a touchscreen monitor?

Google says this is a touch screen but looking at the specs and reviews it does not look like it. So can I use it as an external touch screen for my windows 8 laptop?

Does PC compatible exclude Mac compatible

No, I'm using this with a Mac Book Pro. The important things are the connectors, not the type of computer. If you have one of the type of ports this monitor supports (or can get adapters) it will work.

I want to connect to my MacBook Air, what else do I need

Can I connect this to my Macbook Air? If so, what else do I need besides the monitor itself? I am not familiar with electronic products, so please give me a detailed answer ... Thank you!

I'm connecting it to my Mac Book Pro via Thunderwire (or Thundersomething, I can't remember what it's called) so I had to purchase a Thunderwhatever to VGA converter. No problems with that arrangement.
