This dongle is not without some minor flaws, (mainly finding the chromecast when you first try to connect) but with consistent updates, it just keeps getting better the longer you own it. Its the easiest way to make your TV "smart" With so many apps now castable from your phone or computer, after you do get connected, streaming netflix or youtube to your TV is seamless.

I would recommend this to a friend!

What if both HMDI slots are already taken? :-(

Must this go in the HDMI slot? I have Comcast, which takes up one HDMI, then Roku-which is taking up the other HDMI. I'm thinking of trying Chromecast-which appears to take HMDI (Hence the name! LOL!) My TV has only two HMDI slots, so is there anything I cn do?

Yes it must. Most Rokus come with a cable allowing you to use the composite cables instead of the HDMI, you could move it over to free up an HDMI port. Another option you have is to buy an HDMI to AV or component converter.

Can you use your laptop while streaming netflix to your tv?

Can you watch movies on your tv and do homework or browse the internet from your laptop without it appearing on the tv?

Yes, I do this all the time. For example chromecast will stream just one tab or youtube video but you can certainly switch tabs or work on something else without interrupting playback on your TV

I have a toshiba laptop i recently purchased. would this work on the toshiba?

Yes, any decent laptop recently on the market should be able to handle it. Make sure you are using the chrome browser with the chromecast extension added for best performance.

How do I link chrome with a smart tv

Plug the Chromecast into an available HDMI port on your SmartTV, make sure it has power from the provided USB cable, and switch the input/source on your TV until you see the logo. Setup instructions should appear on your screen shortly

You should be able to, the only requirement is a HDMI connectivity, which virtually all smartTVs have.
