The Dynex optical cable for audio is an excellent value. For optical cables I don't believe that you will hear any difference from a lower priced cable and a really "high-end" cable. Save your money for other things.

I've always been a fan of Robert Cray. This new release has cool packaging which is very retro in that it looks and is packaged like a vintage LP. I enjoy the music and the sound quality is good. However, this album is more like a collection of songs rather than having a central theme or rhythm, so it jumps around in style and pace. i still like the music and certainly recommend it, don't get me wrong.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My first "big screen" TV was a Samsung 56" DLP which was a third-generation model 720p HDTV. It has served me very well and still works today. This newer model replaces the nearly 10 year old model because it's 1080p, lighter, thinner and has a smoother, more colorful picture with better contrast. It also has a built-in HD over-the-air tuner. I highly recommend hooking it up to an HD antenna if you're trying to get the best possible picture (from local broadcast). The free over-the-air HD picture is far superior when compared to your cable company's HD picture because it's uncompressed. I use the antenna for all local broadcast channels and the cable box for the rest. Plus, you'll probably discover a few more channels (side-channels) like MeTV and Antenna TV (old TV shows) which you won't get from the cable box. The satellite companies have 1080p for some content, which would be even better. It's also Energy Star and uses less electricity. Picture is great (after tuning it), but you'll probably not be happy with the built-in speakers. I good sound bar or surround system will more than fix that. The old DLP however had great speakers built-in. I don't use the Smart TV functions that much, but it connects to the wifi in my house instantly and works just fine. You'll want to get a wireless keyboard with built-in track pad for navigation though, as typing one letter at a time with your remote is far too time consuming and frustrating. There's no 3D, but I don't want it. Don't listen to the sales people when tell you that it's an inferior model, that it was "made from left-over parts" and that's why it has a low price point, and that you need to spend more money.... This model was originally made as a Black Friday Special and they made too many of them, so take advantage of the savings. My local store only had it in the back room, so I bought it sight-unseen, and I like it. Sure, there's always better somewhere, but you've got to draw the line in the sand at some point. Excellent value from Samsung at the current price!

Fantastic concert presentation of the "So" album. Technical precision and musicianship at its finest. Presented in 1080p, 16.9 and DTS-Master Audio. Surround is very natural giving good room acoustics of the original theater. This concert is very black-and-white and a little on the dark-side, so it lends itself better to higher contrast capable monitors or projectors. Highly recommended!

If you want to own some of the best movies Hitchcock ever made, then this is where you want to start. These have been digitally transferred and restored from high resolution film to 1080p and show very well when presented on a larger screen. The audio has also been restored with three of them presented in 5.1 surround. Remember, these are older films and you'll just have to accept imperfections. This collection is the "best-of" from a much larger collection available. HIghly recommended!

why is this tv thicker than the 6300

Because it is "back-lit" with LED lights positioned all around the back of the LCD panels instead of "edge-lit" where the LED lights are only along the edges of the screen. Back-lit tends to light the screen more evenly.
