I Love All The Apple Watch Features.
I especially like the well-designed Activity and Workout apps that provide good tracking and motivation.
I also love getting wrist-taps to signal turns when using the Maps app on the watch.

What's great about it: What's not great about it?
First and foremost - remember that it is a Chromebook. It is NOT a $1,000 Windows Ultrabook and it is NOT a $1500 Macbook. This is a $200 Chromebook!
Most people won't admit it, but most of what they do on a computer is surf the web. Guess what? This is perfect for that. Don't focus on the specs. Go to the store and test one of these. Two GB of RAM is plenty on a Chromebook.
When factoring in the cost, remember you won't be buying an annual subscription to anti-virus. You won't be purchasing an Office product. Built in and built in.
You will not find a better browser device than a Chromebook. Additionally, there are plenty of off-line apps that can be used. Traveling? Put movies on your flash drive. Hot-spot to your phone. Use local WiFis, they're everywhere.
This one is rated at 8.5 hours of battery life, seems about right. Some people have complained about the display. Seems good to me. The speakers are fair. The touchpad is great.
My only gripe? The VPN technology used by my work requires a local download. Ain't gonna happen on a Chromebook.

can I skype on this computer and what is the return policy as this will be a gift?

No Skype. Unfortunately, Skype requires a local install. Chromebooks won't allow you to install programs.
You can use the Google hangouts. It allows for video chats.

Can I plug a jump drive or mouse to this laptop?

Yes. I use a USB wireless mouse and a flash drive constantly. The flash drive is for files and movies.

I want to use this for internet based booking for my business. Will there be overheating issues if the unit is left on for 10 hours at a time daily?

None at all. I can keep mine on all day and never notice any heat.
Internet based? Sounds like you are looking at the perfect device.

what printer is compatible

Any printer that is internet accessible (not as hard as it sounds).
My HP printer took 4 or 5 minutes to set up. Now printing is just like from a PC.
