I didn't spend a whole lot on this drive and needed it to replace an older 320GB drive. So far so good. I have had pretty good luck with WD drives (vs. Seagate) so very hopeful on this. Time will tell if it worked out!

Solid state hard drives are extremely fast and have an interface of a SATA port usually. The external or portable hard drives have a mini USB connector so that you can connect to multiple computers easily without having to take them apart to get to a SATA connector.

Will this work with a Toshiba Laptop?

This will work with just about any laptop, you may need to remove a cover or a few screws on the bottom of your laptop to get to the existing hard drive. If you can't see a panel to open up, you may have to search for a disassembly video or manual for your laptop to figure out how to get the existing hard drive out.
