Chrome cast does more then I expected I will be purchasing 2 more very soon, I was amazed at the responsible price, it is very easy to install and use, I have taken this with me on business trips so the my kids are able to enjoy Netflix

Why Chromecast if most streaming services are supported by my TiVo and DVD player?

Between my aging TiVo Premier and Panasonic DVD player, I have built-in apps to stream Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, Cinema Now, Amazon Instant Video, and others.

Why would I otherwise use Chromecast other than directly displaying occasional live content from a PC or Android device?

Just checking to see if I'm missing something in my understanding! Thanks.
the device can be taken with you if you travel, it plugs into most TV's which will make streaming easy. I have 3 teenage daughters that enjoy Netflix and YouTube videos they are able to enjoy what ever it is that they are watching on a full size TV
