Works really well cheapest way to get content to your tv the only drawback is that if you have a "smart" blu Ray player you won't need this as it has most of the same capabilities and plays blu Ray

can tv tuner be istalled in chromebook acer c720 or other models?

Chromcast can plug in to it with an hdmi port but it does you no good as it is only a tool to put what you can access online onto your tv. Essentially it turns your "dumb tv" into a "smart tv" with a tablet or smartphone as a controller.

New to all this...

Our cable co. deleted a channel I love to watch. Claims they were renegotiating so they took it off.
Out of all the useless channels, they took the one sports channel I enjoyed.
Can this media player help? If so, what do I need to do.
I have an I pad and a Google acct. looks like I need an Attena for local channels, unless I can rig my I pad to our flat screen? Hair color not a factor, I'm a novice!

if you can access that channel online with your iPad then this would put it on your tv. Otherwise this won't help. This is primarily to access YouTube netflix hulu etc on your tv

Anywhere that has a solid WiFi connection.

is there a list that I can look at which shows me what programs are available

for example is the show "Fixer Upper" or "Rehab Addict" or "Pretty Little Liars" available. Obviously, I am not sure how this works.
This is not a stand alone device. What this does is uses your WiFi connection to broadcast services you have such as Netflix or hulu to your tv. And you will need a tablet or smart phone to control it. All of your programming comes from other services.
