This sound bar is superb. It sets up over the home network. It was a little tricky at first because I run two networks at home. I wasn't paying close attention at first. The sound bar connected to one network and my phone was connected to the other network. Once I realized that, it was easy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

does the sonos playbar have a setting so the commercials don't play louder then the regular tv shows

I am not sure if it has a built-in setting, but I have not noticed the sound getting louder with commercials like it did before I got my Sonos system.

Sound bar placed behind tv due to shelf depth. It's in an 24" deep niche with approximately 4 inches of opening on sides and top of tv. Will it affect sound bar performance and if so, how much degradation?

It may affect it a little because you calibrate the sound bar to the room you are going to put it in. I would think that if you calibrate it in a little confined space it may affect it. I would calibrate it from just outside the little niche, and then go ahead and slide it in there afterward.

We would like to buy the play bar, speakers and subwoofer when you hook up to Samsung 60 inch tv will it also hook up to FIOS, direct tv and stick all the same time?

Whatever sound is being pumped out of your TV, can go to the speakers. While it is connected to the TV, you can also still connect Bluetooth devices to it and play music or whatever. Obviously, you will not want to play your TV and another device at the same time.

I hooked up the sound bar with two 1’s. I get great surround on my tv, when i stream Netflix, Amazon or even internet. But through the cable, I don’t get any sound from the 1’s. What do I need to do to get surround from the Cable and the TV? Thanks

You need to go through the phone app and tell your sound bar that you have 1s as well. it will connect to them and pump sound over your network to them.

Can I put this sound bar in another room but it’s all open. We need a speaker in the kitchen for the tv.

If you have some of the smaller Sonos speakers, you can move them around. You can move the sound bar too if you have another TV with fiber optic, but it isn't like moving a smaller speaker. If you need to recalibrate the sound bar for another room, you can just do it with the phone app.

What does it mean by this is a wireless soundbar if you still have to connect it to the TV via fiber optic cable?

It also connects to your in home network. You control it over your network, and it talks to a sub and other speakers over the network if you have them. The actually sound from your TV comes through fiber optic to the sound bar.
