Yes. However with the age of your laptop there are very few things you can do to upgrade it at this point. More RAM if you haven't already added it, and a faster hard drive are really the only options. I use this unit in my PS4 and have no issues, however I have extensive computer/laptop background. I would actually recommend a solid state hard drive over this one in your laptop with the reasoning being that a 2010 laptop will feel like a completely different experience with a solid SSD. Boot in a fraction of the time, everything loads faster, even internet pages pop up quicker. With that being said, you need to stick to well-known brands. Intel and Samsung are the best with Intel being the better performer, but Samsung being very solid with usually a lower price point.. Stay away from brands like OCZ, Kingston, and anything of which you've never heard the name of before.
