Can I record movies or TV shows from Fire Stick onto a dvd recorder so I can take the DVD camping?
i dont think so, unless you can get a hdmi input to the recorder

Is this device compatible with TIVO?
I have Amazon Prime and Netflix and currently stream movies through my TIVO. Would I still be able to do that?

Can I stream movies and music that I already own from my computer, a la AppleTV or is it only for Amazon owned/purchased content?
i think only amazon stuff as well as hulu, netflix etx

TIVO
I will not buy any product that does not permit me to keep using TIVO. So, my question is, can I hook up Amazon-Fire TV and use it in addition to TIVO?
you would need a separate hdmi connection to the tv for fire tv, tivo and fire won't communicate together if that is what you are asking

can fire tv record shows and be taken to where there is no internet connection to watch?
no, although it has memory, it is made to hold the apps you can download.

Internet data usage
I recently have a smart tv and I have a Netflix account. All of a sudden I am exceeding my data usage. I have the highest amount of usage that I can get. Would streaming on fire tv do the same or would be less data due to faster streaming?
how are you getting your internet? i don't think my twc has any cap on data usage. if you are trying to stream from a phone, i don't think you can get away from high usage.
