Good Function, But Emits an Odor

This was bought as an exact replacement for a GE model that we had for four years....that we just wore out. My wife loved it.
This new one, while it works well and has additional features, had an objectionable odor from the first day. Thinking we had thirty days to return it we decided to wait a while to see if the odor would dissipate over time.
Unfortunately, Best Buy now has only a 15 day return period and thus it is now too late to return it.
Most of the odor has dissipated, but who knows if it will go away completely
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Can this model be installed in the wall?

If you are intending to "enclose" this in the wall, the answer would be no. The unit vents from the side and thus needs space to exhaust the heated air and moisture. Units meant to be installed in the wall will need a separate exhaust system.
