not a good shop receiver

I bought this for my shop it was an open box receiver so the price was right $ would not have paid full price even knowing what I know now.
I wanted something that had multiple outputs for all my speakers which it dose and it sounds great, BUT! I did not know you needed a tv to make everything work, you can only make adjustments to the receiver with a tv so I was not happy about that because I don't need a tv in the shop. One other thing it does not have an internal fan for cooling and it gets rather hot at just half volume, so I will be adding a fan because heat is the biggest killer of electronics. So I would say if you plan on stacking with other electronics add a fan and do not in close in a cabinet.

Would I be able to hook up only 5 speakers?
I am interested in this receiver and realize the system is for a 7 speaker setup. However, with my setup I only need 5. would there be a problem if I only ran 5 speakers?

How do you switch the a and b speakers?
Everything speaker wise connected won't switch from a to b, only shuts off speakers.
Get a tv you can only adjust things on a tv screen

This receiver is bi-wire capable correct?
I'm looking at getting a pair of polk speakers with the dual binding posts and I want to make sure this receiver can use two each channels to adequately power them.

Roku pass through.
Considering buying this but will be streaming movies, some of which are 5.1 surround. Now I don't want to "assume" incorrectly that this will play 5.1 surround sound. I actually do assume that it will but wanted some feedback prior to purchasing. Yes it's probably a dumb question and no I am not real tech savvy. :)

Setting up A/B switching for 2 audio zones
The best buy web site indicates that you can set up 2 audio zones. I have a home theater in my family room (a 5/1 config) and I have 2 outdoor speakers on my deck to play music outside.I do not see a good description of how to do this in the manual. can anyone explain how this is done?

Surround sound
I hooked up and calibrated surround sound but no audio, and says speakers off. How do I turn them on.
Get a tv to view adjustments. It's the only way you can adjust and turn things on and off.
