I require a REALLY tough case for my iPhone - I'm extremely hard on my phones. I've NEVER broken an iPhone in LifeProof cases. These things are awesome, AND waterproof! I LOVE shooting underwater video, and taking my iPhone out on the ski slopes without worrying about how my phone will handle it. I can throw my phone out my car window, and it's still OK. It's perfect. My only complaint is that the screen isn;t as sensitive as I'd like it with the case on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What it the battery's voltage? Is there a way to hook an external battery to it to allow longer run-time?

I'd like to use it in a motorhome and have the 12 volt batteries as the back-up power source. That would allow me to run the motorhome off AC when parked and off the UPS when driving.
You would do better to get a standard power inverter for that purpose.

which product can I use to power my sump pump

Want to have 4-8 hours of run time for my 1/3 HP pump.
To answer that question, you need to know how many watts your sump pump uses.

Is the headphone adapter a pain?

I'm considering LifeProof but I use head phones all the time. Is the headphone adaptor a pain in the butt? Seems like it would be but let's see what you experienced folks say. Thanks.
It's a LITTLE bit of a pain. I've used LifeProof cases since the first version, and I think it's still worth it for the water proof nature of it. If it use the Apple earbuds, you don;t need the adaptor. If you're always plugging in and taking out your phones, you MAY NOT WANT a waterproof case - they ALL will require a screw-in adaptor. An option would be bluetooth phones.
