This isn't a review where you'll read the item can't compare with something that costs umpteen dollars more. When I read that I think "so why didn't you BUY the other item and pay more, instead of complain? This item is just what I wanted...it's a step up from the one that was $5 less...which I bought five years ago and still works! I screwed up the latch on the one I had and for a $20 item to last five years...it's fully depreciated in my eyes. My new CD+ Player Sounds good...plays my CDs, the two FM stations I listen to come across static free. I was able to program the presets. I'm satisfied with the headset. It does what I want it to do. The biggest complaint I see is people who can't play their full audio books stuff....which isn't the CD Player's fault. The people who make the Audiobooks want you to buy a more expensive proprietary player...maybe?

Having bought items I used...then didn't...I bought the Shuffle to 'walk' with...was only $50. I like it....it's small, holds a tremendous amount of music, tucks into my purse. I might even upgrade to a Nano or iPod...after I find out if Apple will still support them - I hear there are plans to discontinue production. I think the basic difference between the Shuffle and the other two is capacity and ability to visually 'choose' what you want to listen to - but don't quote me.

What adapter will fit into this player AND into the car lighter or accessory socket?
There are USB adapters - if you don't know how to Google what you want to know? Suggest you stop in or call Best Buy and talk to them about what you have and what you want to do - and I'm sure they'll be able to help. That's been my experience. They love to help. It's good for business.

I am looking to buy asap a portable CD player with FM and most importantly that can take CD purchased overseas in foreign language, mostly French . By the way your Gainesville, FL shop does not carry any portable CD players. Any recommendations?
