My son's Xbox HDD filled up, so they needed an external HDD for their Christmas games. This works great and is very fast. Doubt they will fill up 3TB.

Can I used this product with a Mac and a Windows computer at the same time?

No - It has to be formatted for one device or the other. As soon as you plug it in, is requires formatting.
