I have no idea why I waited so long to get my own SSD... My computer boots up so quickly now. I only decided to upgrade after getting a Watchdog Violation error for my hard drive and panicked. I ran to Best Buy, picked up this SSD, ran home, opened up my laptop, and realized it didn't come with a data transfer cable... Yikes! Had to make a trip back to Best Buy. Excellent product, a lot more simple to install than I expected it to be! Just make sure to ask someone if this is your first time and don't make the same mistakes as me!

While you certainly could get a wireless/bluetooth/usb keyboard and mouse for your Surface Pro 3, in terms of keeping the screen safe and the aesthetics of the tablet in tact, the keyboard is kind of the only option. The "snap-in" feature is great and the back-lit keys are definitely a plus, the touchpad could use some improvement. If not using a separate mouse this thing wears out fairly quickly and the "click" feature ends up sticking on occasion. Again, a separate mouse will solve this problem so it isn't a major point for me at least. If you're worried about clogging up the one USB port on the Surface Pro3 with keyboard and mouse accessories, always remember it has bluetooth and wireless capabilities. A USB hub or docking station will give you more ports as well! All-in-all, a pretty good accessory for pretty much the only option anyway.

This is my second Surface Pro 3. I love it! The processor is fast, the memory is great, the picture quality and responsiveness are excellent. The kickstand definitely makes it useful everywhere from the plane to the commode. I am about to purchase the docking station to make it my full desktop/laptop/tablet computer. The keyboard accessory isn't the best. It does "snap" in and stay pretty well, and the back-lit keyboard is a plus, but the touchpad and "click" feature wears out quickly if not using a separate mouse (so a separate mouse is recommended). If worried about USB space (only one port) just grab a USB expansion hub or the docking station. Overall a great purchase!

All-in-all it is a good cable, bought a couple all at once and have had no problems so far. No kinks or fraying at the "neck" like cheap cables. Not an ideal cable for extremely fast charging, but worth the price.

My desktop has a 1 TB hard drive that is about 800 gigs full. Can I just clone the OS and the apps leaving the data in my hdd?
Not exactly. Once you clone the software removes any data on the old hard drive. You will want to first get an external hard drive, download the data to the external (or cloud software like Google Drive), then clone the drive.

Will best buy geek squad install and if so how much do you charge to install?
Best Buy Geek squad will install hard drives, but they charge more than it is worth (in my opinion at least). They make them so simple to transfer and install that if you know how to use a screw driver it is not worth paying them to do it.

Are the surface pro 2 covers compatible with the pro 3?
I have the Suface Pro 3 but love the magenta color of the pro 2 keyboard so much better then what's offered......are they compatible and what are the differences between the two keyboards?
They are not compatible, unfortunately. There may be more color options available here on BestBuy.com that are not available in your local store. Worst case scenario you can get a bluetooth, USB, or wireless keyboard instead. :-)

Microphone not registering?
I just purchased this product today and, while the headphones work great, the microphone isn't even registering on my computer. I have tried absolutely everything from installing a drive (it may have been an app for Skype. It wasn't clear on the website) from plantonics to searching my computer's audio devices for the microphone. It isn't showing up anywhere, not Skype, my computer, or Rosetta Stone. Is there anything specific I need to do for it to be installed?
No, it should work without any special driver. It sounds like a faulty usb cable.
