I bought the remote to replace 6 and perform one button control of a fairly complicated system. Immediately had problems getting the s/w to run on Windows 10. After doing considerable research on their website, I ended up calling in and was instructed to turn off my virus s/w and firewall and finally had to create another account on my computer per the call reps' instructions. None of that is in the instructions. Setup was amazingly straight forward, however, the "one button" operation for the 6 components didn't work as planned. The remote has a "help" function and I ended up pushing the help button and responding to it's prompts more than if I had handled all of the remotes for the various components. I don't know if the help function was learning as I used it, but I don't have the time to teach it. One morning I pushed the button to turn one of the tvs in the system and the Directv box - the most simple of all of the activities and it wouldn't even do that without pushing the help button and responding to several prompts. I do have a component which requires RF control and I knew that in advance and was willing to forego that operability. My initial impression with it was not favorable and i'm returning it after 3 days. If you're more patient, you may get it to work as advertised. Good Luck.

I've been looking at Slingboxes for years and finally got one. Liked it so much that I bought my Son-in-Law one. I viewed mine when I was in the hospital for a week by hooking a FireStick to the hospital TV. The firestick is the easiest way to control the Slingbox, although the other ways are not hard. I use my Slingbox by means of the Firestick as a second program source for a second tv in my ManCave primarily.

I gave my son my previous generation stick after I bought my Alexa generation stick for the ManCave. Then I bought one for my Den TV. Alexa and I are still working on understanding each other. It will get 5 stars when we do.

I need a new remote for a small TruTech TV. Will this work on this brand?
They have a query session on the Logitech website that will tell you if it will, but this is a mighty expensive remote for just that control.

Will this act as an antenna too?
Will it pick over the air stations?
The Slingbox itself will not, but if the source you are hooking it too can receive them and the Slingbox can control it that source, you can view them.I have my Directv DVR hooked to my Slingbox. I can see everything on my DVR remotely using the Slingbox.

Does sling box work on a smart TV
Other than a Roku TV, most of the Smart TV's I've seen don't have the Slingplayer app available. You need it to use it to run the Slingbox. However, you can hook a Roku, Firestick, etc to the TV to watch a Slingbox located at another location. You can cast to some Smart TVs using SlingPlayer app on your mobile device. You can't use a SmartTV as a source for the Slingbox because most (if any) don't have video outputs.

How exactly does this function with a streaming device?
I have both a Roku 3 and an Amazon stick, so I'm wondering exactly what the hookup would be that would enable me to access the programming of these devices.
The source you are trying to stream from using the Slingbox needs component video out or composite video out connections. I have seen Rokus with composite out, but have never tried to hook one up to a Roku. The Amazon Stick can't be hooked up to it directly. I've always found it easier to take a Roku or Firestick with me when I'm away from home.
