This camera is a carry-along item to shoot location video (putting location in perspective for panorama shots), signs along hiking trails for keeping on path, & grab shots when main camera is not along. It is small, light and convenient for a pocket. Lens is protected by a cover when power is off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I use these flash drives to back up my photos (scanned film and digital) and important documents (tax forms, etc). No moving parts and reliable storage.

Use the 32 Gbyte flash drive to back up photos (both scanned film and digital). I feel this is a better alternative than portable hard drives or DVDs.

Is the plastic usb port connector on the flashdrive as durable as the metal ones?

The part of the flash drive that goes into the pc USB port is plastic. All other flash drives have metal ones. Is this as durable as metal?
It's probably not as durable as the metal ones; but what stresses are you putting on the connector? Insert and remove properly and there should be no problems. I have never had the connector fail.
