I don't have any regrets about purchasing the new Apple TV, but as many reviews I've read have noted, the potential has not yet been fully realized. Having Siri integration and more responsive/sophisticated remote is a big step forward, but you still have to hunt and peck for letters too often and the best is probably yet to come with the apps. I am excited about the latest Apple advancements though, such as agreements forged with media like HBO that help cord-cutters like me, and about the addition of iOs-like functionality that has already begun to increase the capability of Apple TV.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Is this compatible with a mac

Yes, I use it with my 27 inch iMac and it works just fine. Some of the software isn't compatible, but the incompatible software is not required to use this product.
