I have had this product now for about a month, as long as you understand the limitations that come with having a net book this excellent Chrome Book will fully meet your expectations. It has a very fast boot up time which is to be expected with the OS on the SSD, the battery life is more than adequate even with extended classroom use.
This is the perfect computer for school, Google Play has a great selection of textbooks that have the option to buy or rent for a period. Once you learn the limitations of a netbook this is a perfect option for school uses.

The monitor has a 3.5mm audio output for connecting speakers to the monitor. It also includes built-in 2W stereo speakers which are fairly good internal speakers.

The Chromebook does not include Microsoft Word, it does however include Google Docs which is able to open Microsoft Word documents that you upload to your Google Drive, and it can also save files in Word format that are created in Google Docs.
Google Docs is a fairly basic word processing program, but it does have the option to incorporate add-ons to enhance the functionality of it. There is the option of saving all your files in Word format from your primary computer or from the Chromebook and uploading them to Google Drive and later editing them from another device.

Can it play Vimeo videos?
If you're talking about playing videos straight from the Vimeo site, yes it can, I just checked this personally to make sure. If you have files downloaded and save them into your Drive it seems it will play them as well, although I am not entirely sure what formats it will play and what format Vimeo saves in if you download the videos.
It also seems to be possible to upload your ITunes videos to Google's Google Play Music Manager and play them from any of your Google connected devices. Here is the support article for doing that:

Can it give access to read books on it
The best option for reading books on this Chrome Book is to use the Google Play store, it has many options for books from your everyday readers, to textbooks. There are options available for purchase or rental of most books as well.
It is also possible to read Kindle books using the Kindle Cloud Reader to read your purchased or uploaded books. The only downfall to this option is that some titles purchased from Kindle are not available to read using this option and will only let you use them on a Kindle device or application.
