What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: point and shoot
having a photography business it is nice to grab to scout locations and leave high end camera's at home

Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S - Stock Issues - Anyone have the scoop?

Good Day All,

Leaving for vacation in a month and have had this lens on backorder from Amazon for almost three weeks with shipping times stated as 2-3 months (which usually means no one knows when stock will become available). I've noticed this lens is available in AU, which is closer to where Nikon manufactures their glass (China/Thailand/Vietnam) and am hoping this means the boat is on it's way with more for us.

I'd prefer to order the lens from BestBuy but since the lens is only available for in-store pickup and no store has them, I cannot ever place a back-order.

Does anyone @ BBY have any indication when stock is expected for this lens? If within 30 days, I'd prefer to cancel my backorder and wait it out...but do not want to guess.

went to store and ordered with no problems in oct. took 3-4 days to get it
