This is a great starter laptop. We bought this for our child for school. While it can do all the basics, it is very slow and had to be rebooted frequently. If you can spend a little more on a faster laptop, I'd recommend it over this laptop.

It's slimmer and keeps charge for long time. That is the positive. Negatives are that 50% of time doesn't do what you pushed on screen to do then you have to filter through three more screens to turn on something and turns in to more work than it's worth. Also-can't type in numbers for channels. They have to be manually added or you have to scroll through all the screens in menu. Awful flaw.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Where are the number keys? Do they appear on the touch screen?

Nope-you have to enter the channels you want online or scroll through on menu/guide. Big flaw in design over past less-expensive models.
