Not a bad system. Like most out of the box all in ones, the wiring for the rear speakers could be a bit longer, and the sound could be a bit more rich. That being said, the quality overall is excellent for a 5.1 sound bar system. You very much do get what you pay for.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the system work without the two rear speakers plugged into the wireless sub?

I was considering buying this system but was thinking about my current home theater set up and didn't know if I have the space to utilize the two rear surround speakers. I was wondering if the system functioned as a 3.1 if you didn't use the two rear surrounds? I like this system over the 2.1 but might not use the rears at first. Can anyone help me with this question.
Yes it functions without the rear speakers.

TV Volume Control?

Do you have to use the remote that comes with the Sound Bar to control volume, or, if you're connected to a TV via a digital connection (optical or coax), will the TV's volume control the sound bar volume?
In order to control the sound system, the system's remote must be utilized. It may work with a universal, but I have not experimented with that.
