While not the top brand model out there, this Vizio unit does have a nice crisp picture, bright colors and the speakers are not bad for a thin LED. I'm able to easily watch without a sound bar, though that would add a whole different dynamic. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this for its AM frequency and digital controls. This little unit fits perfectly in the office and the antenna picks up pretty good. Sound could be a little better, but its adequate for its size and purpose. The built-in aux cable is a nice feature for my iPod, not having to worry about bringing my cable, which is easily hidden underneath.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've read that the sound is not the greatest. Is a sound bar necessary?

Depends on the effect you're looking for. If you want theater sound when watching movies or dynamic sound if playing games, then yes you'll probably need one. Mine is used for basic viewing, not loud, and it works just fine.

I have a problem setting the clock to wake me to the radio mode. How do I set it?

I actually googled the unit by model number and was able to bring up the installation/user guide and found instructions online
