My Century Link Modem died recently so I had to replace it. I chose to purchase the recommended modem rather than a different cheaper one. Glad I did this modem was a breeze to set up.

to reduce exposure we turn off wireless modem when not in use. Would the Ethernet ports still be on?
No. The device does not function when it is powered down.
