Chromecast is very handy for watching YouTube videos on the big screen, listening to internet music on the big speakers, and such. It's easy to set up and easy to control, unlike internet-connected A/V receivers.

Does the HDMI Streaming USB really enhance the WiFi signal to my HDTV ??

I will be purchasing a new HDTV with WiFi ready, my Wifi in the place I live has terribly low signal strength.

It's possible that Chromecast can pick up a weaker WiFi signal than your TV can, or maybe not. Even if it does, that just means the Chromecast can receive its streams when the TV is not getting a strong enough signal to receive its streams.

Chromecast does not relay a WiFi signal to the TV. It will not make the TV's WiFi features work any better.

Can I stream from a smart tv to another tv with the chromecast plugged into it?

I have a smart tv and would like to stream a movie or tv show to another tv in another room that I would hook the Chromecast into. Would the Chromecast work this way? We have cable and think it would work as long as I left the smart tv on while I played the dvr cable program and it was going through the tv, just like as if I was stream a dvd from a blue ray in another room via wifi?
Would this work?

Unlikely, but it depends on your smart TV. Chromecast mostly streams directly from the internet and from laptops, desktops, or smart phones. It needs something to transmit the stream over the network. Can your DVR player transmit streaming video locally?

Chromecast overheating and quits working.

I will be watching something through the chromecast and it will just stop working and go blank screen. I can reset it and it will work for a little while and then quit again. Very hot to the touch.

That sounds like you need to replace the Chromecast unit. Is it still under warranty?

NON-HDTV CONNECTOR/ADAPTOR PLUG

I have an older model t.v. that don't have a USB plug. It does have the plugs fot hooking up my dvd player. My dvd player "DOES HAVE" 2 usb plugs. 1 on the back & 1 on the front. The back says "output", the fronts doesn't say anything. I can plug my dvd player into the t.v.. Can I run my CHROME CAST through the DVD-usb slots & run it like that, or is there a plug that converts from the YELLOW & WHITE PORTS on the t.v. to a usb in order to plug in chrome cast?? I am disabled & can,t afford an HDTV w/HDMI ports??

You'll need to feed the Chromecast's audio & video output into an HDMI input connector, either on the TV or on an intermediate device like an A/V receiver.

Chromecast also has a USB connector but that's ONLY to provide power. You can connect that to any available USB connector (e.g. on your DVD player) or just use the USB power module that comes with the Chromecast.

Are you sure those connectors on your DVD player are USB connectors?

CAN I NAVIGATE LIKE IN MY MAC ??

Can I navigate with google browser to find any item, or just with the apps of the chromecast ?? I mean, can I use it like a browser (google) ??

You can "cast" a web browser tab from your Mac or other laptop/desktop after installing the "Google Cast" extension into the Chrome browser. (You can also "cast" anything on your Android screen including the browser in recent versions of the Android OS.)

The big screen will show the web contents while you navigate from the Mac.

There are two ways to do it on a YouTube web page. Using the "cast" icon within the YouTube player will produce smoother results than casting the entire web page.
