How do you remove cover without breaking a nail?

Use a small knife or scissor to carefully slice the plastic case covering the item. Most packaging should be more friendly. Flash drive black cover slides "back and forth". Hold on white end with right hand index finger and thumb, then use left hand index finger and thumb to pull or slide black cover away from white end. Sorry about your nail breaking.
