I have two of these devices, one hooked to my mac for "Time Machine" backup app and the other for a PC using the built-in Seagate backup app.
I wanted to keep the two machines entirely separated. I particularly like the built-in app for the PC, as it lets the user specify how often to backup.
Small and compact and unobtrusive on the desk top.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can I plug this into my router so that all my network devices can back up to it?

Would I need backup software or would the backup in windows be sufficient?
I know you can backup several devices on the one disk but not sure how many.
I particularly liked the built in back up software app that comes already installed on the Seagate drive. It is easy to set up and flexible, letting you select how often and when to backup your devices.
