I purchased this Belkin 7-port USB desktop hub to expand my ports because I was updating the operating system on my computer and needed to back up my data to external hard drives. Since my existing USB hub was only 1.0 and very slow by today's standards I updated to the 2.0 since that matches the port in my computer. What a difference in speed! Now I no longer get the pop-up messages every time I plug in something, telling me "you could get faster transfer speeds if you used USB 2.0". Plus I have plenty of ports to plug in my devices on my desk and it doesn't take up much space. No issues so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The 'Powered' thing.

I know this has been answered but i was wondering if this thing comes with an ac adapter. Like can i power it from a wall outlet and connect it to my computer so i have extra power? Like i dont want it to be supplied power from my usb. I want it to be powered from the wall mostly. Im having trouble with all my usb ports and i was wondering if it was a power problem so this thing being powered by a usb port wouldnt help. If this one cant do what i need it to do can anyone recommend a usb hub that can?
Yes, the Belkin 7-Port Powered USB Desktop Hub does come with an AC power adapter. It has a "wall wart" style end to plug into your electrical outlet. So, in theory, you should be able to charge your USB devices (phone, etc.) by plugging them into this unit. I hope this answers your question.
