does the freezer pull a vaccum when the door is closed.
some freezers have only a magnetic door seal. better units have a vacuum seal and the door cannot be opened when the vac is being pulled
Yes it does pull a vacuum when sealed. it's quite apparent when trying to open the door. It seals very well.

What are the shelves made of?
I am wondering what the shelves are made of? Are they wire or glass shelves because some of the pictures show glass shelves and then some of the pictures show wire shelves?
The freezer shelves are wire shelves. The baskets are plastic and are so-so sturdy.

how do I know which program to purchase? I have 0 deductions and retired with a pension.
Both my wife and I are retired and we have always used the Deluxe vesion for the free state download.
Now if you are in a state whihc does not have state income tax, then the Basic might be best.
