This mount was easy to install on the wall. I had pre-positioned extra wood behind the sheetrock for a solid mount of the wall bracket. No plastic anchors used. TV portion of the mount allowed enough clearance to plug in the cables. Worked well overall. Solid mount.

I want to replace my TV which has this mounting bracket. How do I release the locking mechanism. I am not even sure where it is and I can't see it. Thx!
There are two catches on the lower side of the two mounting brackets. You will have to pull them both downward at the same time. They may be hard to reach depending on the size TV that you have. I would recommend trying two bent coathangers (with a hook formed on the end) to try to pull them downward. Then rotate the TV outward a little. Have help to then lift the TV upward and outward. I also recommend that before you put the mount back up on the wall, that you get two 18" to 24" black cable ties and use them to lengthen the catch release mechanism. Cut them off so they don't hang down beyond the TV.
