Absolutely NOT without ruining your machine. If the item comes up above half of the depth of the tub DO NOT TRY IT. Just today I thought, "let me try washing that blue fleece King blanket my lab loves." So, I put it in the machine and it came up to the top of the stainless steel tub, but foolish me thought that because it was light (< 6 pounds) it would work. NOT SO! I watched through the glass lid as the throw blanket sank into the tub but then I panicked when the water stopped and there was more throw blanket than water in the machine. It made one rotation and I pushed the pause button to lift the lid and get that heavy thing out of my machine lest I ruin it. That was a difficult task but worth it to save the machine from the consequences of unwise judgment on my part. Took it to a laundromat to finish laundering. BUT as I was watching it spin around at the laundromat I thought about cutting it in half and hemming the ends so that my lab would have half a blanket which just might work in the machine. The cutting in half option would not be a solution for you, I think.
