For $100, this router is JUNK. The wifi is not strong enough to reach 20 feet across my 900 sqft house, let alone be usable outdoors in my yard. I haven't even owned it 30 days, and now Best Buy tells me the return period is over. What a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does this offer customer support and for how long after purchase. May I call netgear to help with hook up and connectivity. This is a modem and router for wifi in home. How far does the wifi extend

The specs state "wifi for large homes". My home is 900 sqft.
The wifi hardly reaches 20 feet from one room to another in my home.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS UNIT.

What type of service plan comes with the modem,if there is a problem with the modem

None. And Best Buy won't let you return it, even if you've owned it under 30 days. Also, the wifi range is under 20 feet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $100 ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK.

Does this work with Verizon DSL service ?

It works with Comcast, but the wifi range is under 20 feet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $100 ON THIS PIECE OF JUNK.
