What are the differences between the V600 and the V550 scanners?

I have the 550 and it works just fine with Windows 10. Haven't seen any problems.

can I scan multiple photos at the same time ?

Yes. Most of the time, the scanner app will present them to you as separate images. Sometimes it gets confused and puts them together.

Is the V600 an update of the V550

I have the 550, and the 600 does appear to be the new version of it.
