The controller box is smaller than I expected, but it controls everything in my living room. The remote is also small and thin. They made it thin by using coin batteries, and some of the buttons are smaller than I like, especially the numbers. However, I like not having to point the remote at anything, so working with the small buttons is not as bad as I thought it would be.

I would recommend this to a friend!

I have,a Sony OLD with Direct TV service plus a Bose 48 system. Will Harmony control all three?

Yes. It's designed to control thet typical setup of TV, video source, and sound system. The Bose Lifestyle 48 may require a setting change, but I didn't think it was hard and it works with mine.

Now do you charge the battery?

It doesn't use a rechargable battery. It uses one, three volt coin cell lithium battery, type CR2032. Under normal remote usage, the battery is expected to last one year.
