I previously purchased a good "knock-off" of this lens. (Yongnuo 50mm f1.8) That other lens was good, but would over overexpose and have trouble locking in focus on the correct part of the image. So, I returned it and bought the Nikon lens. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
The Nikon lens is great! Images are sharp, and have good color and proper exposure. (Using Nikon D3400 DSLR.)
Definitely worth the additional money IF you plan on using the 50mm lens and not just the kit-lens that comes with the camera.
