I had to replace a broken microwave on Christmas eve and was limited to what was available immediately. I found this online so had to rely on the limited description, it was more than I wanted to spend and I was unsure about the brand and quality, but it was the only option given the desired features. There was no floor model to look at so did not see it until I got it home and unboxed it. I was impressed immediately with the sturdiness of the sides, top and door compared to all other microwaves I have used. The keypad/menu is simple to use and my elderly father had the whole thing figured out with a one minute explanation. It does everything we need it to do without being overly complicated. With 1000 watts it heats much faster than the 600 watt model that we replaced. It has a light inside to monitor the cooking process and a removable turn table. I'm confident it will serve us well for many years and would recommend the Insignia brand and this model.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does the button that opens the door make a lot of noise and is it smooth or clanky?
The button seemed a bit harder to press than others that I have used, but it was not difficult. It didn't seem to make any more noise than others.

Does the microwave continue beeping when food is done until you open the door or does it only beep once when food is done? Can you change setting if it's continuous?

Yes, The light comes on when the door is open and during the cooking process, which can be viewed through the door.
