If you don't need to scan larger than medium format film this is a great scanner. I do suggest getting the Silverfast software to use with it over the Epson software. Silverfast is free with the Serial Number of your scanner.

Compact flash is getting harder to find and the SanDisk Extreme is the best I can find. Only a few hundred photos on it but it is fast and seems to be reliable as all SanDisk products.

For a mechanical HD, it surprisingly fast and its size and weight are light. I have it velcroed to the lid of my laptop. I also have the 4 Tb version and it is much heavier and is twice as thick.

I am very impressed with this laptop. It is fast, has a brilliant screen, and a keyboard with decent tactile feel. The USB-C is fast and handles data transfers quickly. The only thing that is a little bit of an incontinence is that the pointer will jump when you go click the touchpad button, It's more to do with the trend of combining the physical buttons and the touchpad.
