I have used WD drives for over 40 years, both internal and external, and they have never failed me. I got this drive as a second disk for my new computer. I plan to install Linux on it, and configure the machine to dual boot. I chose this particular drive for its speed - 7200rpm. I know it will work in the configuration I plan, as I have done it before. I got it at a very good price during the Black Friday sale.

I have wanted this unit for some time, and was finally able to get it at an excellent price during the Black Friday sale. It provides excellent backup for my new PC and new monitor, and their external drives. My equipment has relatively low power draw, and I get almost an hour of run time when losing power, which is more than sufficient to backup crucial files, and power everything down safely.

This monitor is my first 4K monitor, and it gives me absolutely stunning images. I am using it with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop elements., and it is well paired with them. I thought I might be overwhelmed by the size of the screen, coming from a 15" screen on a laptop - but I very quickly got accustomed to it, and find myself doing all my editing using my new monitor.

This machine is impressive. It is very well made - with a very pleasing exterior, and a very clean and well laid out interior. It provides more features at this price point than you can find elsewhere. For example - it gives two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, and a USB C port on the front! The engineering is well thought out. For example, the memory is two paired 4GB sticks, to optimize throughput. The machine is snappy and does the jobs it was designed for very well. One thing to take note of is that the machine is not designed for high end gaming, and really can't be upgraded to do so - it has a 180W interior power supply and a proprietary motherboard. But it does all the tasks characteristic of a home pc very well, and somewhat beyond. I am doing photo editing using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop Elements, and they work very well. I have paired the PC with a 28" Samsung 4K monitor, and the images are stunning. For the price, you won't find a better machine anywhere.

Does this laptop run windows and is it good for sims 4
Although this laptop meets the minimum requirements to run Sims 4, it will struggle to run the program. The main issue is that the Core i3 processor in this laptop is not powerful enough to deal with the program well. The recommendation is to have a machine with a Core i5 processor.

Can a printer be hooked up to this laptop?
This laptop is in S mode. There may be some printers that this will not allow you to connect with and operate. In that instance you can still connect if you disable S mode. Connection can be made via usb, bluetooth, or wifi.

The "360" video of this laptop shows to have a fingerprint reader on the power button for security unlock. But when I was trying to activate that option it shows a message: "No supported device detected". Why is it not working? False advertising?
The version of this laptop sold by Best Buy does not have a fingerprint reader. The video was generic and made for several versions of the laptop.

If I turn off the S mode will it work normally or it affects its performance.. and What the consequences will be if you turn off the S mode?
A positive feature of S mode is that a number of processes deemed unnecessary will not be running. As a result, the laptop will boot a little faster, run a little faster, and have a little longer battery life. Try it for a little while and then make the decision whether to stay on it or not.

I don't think it matters what generation the core processor is - just find a case for a 15.6inch laptop that you like.

Is there an LINE input jack on this unit?
On many laptop machines, the headset output jack can be
configured in the Device Manager to serve as a stereo
input jack. That is how I got my laptop (an hp) to work with the program Audacity. It blew my mind when I learned about this!
