arrived at about 80%, so I ignored the instructions and then spent a half hour trying to figure out why it wouldn't

on the back of the unit that said to "Activate" the unit you
first had to recharge it (completely). After doing this the
power station worked perfectly.

This power station is well suited for home power outages,
travel, and camping. It has a good collection of outlets
to serve most needs. I particularly like the included
"night light". It draws only 3W, and provides adequate
lighting for a small area - see my photos of it in a dark kitchen on and off. It can provide about 62 hours of light
if nothing else draws power. This can be very helpful
during an evening power outage.

Can I add an external hard drive for more storage????
There are two very fast ports on this laptop that you can attach an external drive to. One option that is very convenient is to add a tiny button drive, often called a FIT drive. Can the storage be upgraded? If so, what kind of drive is needed and what is the maximum capacity possible?
You could add an external solid state drive. If you get one of the newer ones that use an NVMe, and connect it to the Super Speed usb-c port, you could get speeds as high as 1000MB/s for both read and write.
