of the box. It has an aspect ratio of 16:10, which is
better for processing my photos and slides than the
usual 16:9 aspect ratio. The 24 inch screen is perfect
for my work. Its 1920X1200 resolution is well matched
to my work needs. To top it all off it provides a built in
4 port usb hub, as well as a stand that has a remarkable
degree of positioning capability.

There are two very fast ports on this laptop that you can attach an external drive to. One option that is very convenient is to add a tiny button drive, often called a FIT drive. The usb-c port on this laptop does not support display-out. But you can use the included hdmi port to do that.

You could add an external solid state drive. If you get one of the newer ones that use an NVMe, and connect it to the Super Speed usb-c port, you could get speeds as high as 1000MB/s for both read and write.
