I clone the system disk of one of my computers to this drive to use as a backup. I can do this relatively easily and quickly, and repeat the process every two months. This provides a quick means of recovery in the event of a catastrophic crash of the system. I got this drive on sale at a good price.

I got this drive at a great price on sale. I put into an external housing with a fast USB interface. With it I get speeds of typically 400 MB/s, which are close to the maximum of 500 MB/s for this drive connected directly to the SATA inside a pc. I use it to do backups of the drives inside my tower. It is an economical means of performing this function.

I purchased a couple of these drives and put them into external housings with fast usb interfaces. I use them to backup my system drive twice a month, alternating between them. I get speeds of typically 400 MB/s with this external housing, which is close to the maximum of 500MB/s obtainable when connected to the internal SATA of my computer. My sister has little tech skills, and she had no difficulty setting this laptop up. You should be fine. Just be sure to have your wifi id and password ready, as well as your Microsoft account id and password.

How long does battery stay charged

It will depend on how the laptop is being used, and on the power settings used. If you run it with the display screen at max brightness, you will run the battery out faster than if the screen is run at half brightness. If you are streaming movies you will use up the battery faster than if you are just reading emails or working on a simple document. The number given by the manufacturer is probably what is obtained under optimal conditions.

There are two very fast ports on this laptop that you can attach an external drive to. One option that is very convenient is to add a tiny button drive, often called a FIT drive. These extend only a tiny amount from the laptop, and can remain attached even in a sleeve or a case. Here is a link to such a drive that is very economical:

Can you charge this with the USB-C port? Does the USB-C port support display-out?

The usb-c port on this laptop does not support display-out. But you can use the included hdmi port to do that.
