I use this to make a clone of the system disk of one of my computers, to serve as a backup. I can do this relatively quickly. I repeat the process every two months. This provides a relatively quick way to recover in the event of a major system crash.

I got this drive at a great price on sale. I put into an external housing with a fast USB interface. With it I get speeds of typically 400 MB/s, which are close to the maximum of 500 MB/s for this drive connected directly to the SATA inside a pc. I use it to do backups of the drives inside my tower. It is an economical means of performing this function.

This tiny external USB drive is a very good way to add additional storage to a laptop without having to clone and install a drive into the laptop. It protrudes only a small amount from the side of the laptop, allowing it to remained plugged in while inserted into a sleeve or carrying bag. When removing the bottom plate from the laptop I have seen some videos that say that the laptop power is turned off automatically. Is this true? Also, is the battery disconnected from the motherboard when this is done?

The "360" video of this laptop shows to have a fingerprint reader on the power button for security unlock. But when I was trying to activate that option it shows a message: "No supported device detected". Why is it not working? False advertising?
The version of this laptop sold by Best Buy does not have a fingerprint reader. The video was generic and made for several versions of the laptop.

If I turn off the S mode will it work normally or it affects its performance.. and What the consequences will be if you turn off the S mode?
A positive feature of S mode is that a number of processes deemed unnecessary will not be running. As a result, the laptop will boot a little faster, run a little faster, and have a little longer battery life. Try it for a little while and then make the decision whether to stay on it or not.

I don't think it matters what generation the core processor is - just find a case for a 15.6inch laptop that you like.

Is there an LINE input jack on this unit?
On many laptop machines, the headset output jack can be
configured in the Device Manager to serve as a stereo
input jack. That is how I got my laptop (an hp) to work with the program Audacity. It blew my mind when I learned about this!

Can the RAM be expanded to 12 or 16GB?

You certainly can! I would recommend a blue-tooth mouse, so you can keep your usb ports available.

Do I need a technician to set this laptop up. I'm not super technical but my previous laptop was a Lenovo. And I just do the basics. No games or stuff like that. Just email and favorite websites.
