I opened up my computer to look at the cable situation, because I want to add an additional hard drive to the system. I found that the power cable to the DVD drive has a connector on it that will allow you to supply power to such a drive. I also saw that there is an open socket for one data sata cable to connect to this drive, but there is no cable provided to do this. You will have to buy the cable yourself (less than $10). Finally there is a single open bay available, and it will hold a 3.5" drive, and it is just below the dvd drive. So adding one additional SATA drive appears doable, and relatively straight forward.
