I clone the system disk of one of my computers to this drive to use as a backup. I can do this relatively easily and quickly, and repeat the process every two months. I got this drive at a great price on sale. I put into an external housing with a fast USB interface. With it I get speeds of typically 400 MB/s, which are close to the maximum of 500 MB/s for this drive connected directly to the SATA inside a pc. I use it to do backups of the drives inside my tower. It is an economical means of performing this function.

When this hits the end of the tape (play or ff/rw), does it continue to put tension on the tape or do the motors stop?
When in Play mode, the motors do automatically stop at the end of the tape. However, when in FF or RW modes the motors do NOT stop - and will continue to put tension on the tape.

It has a headphone out that works well for connecting to other audio devices, such as speakers. It also has an Aux In connection that allows you to input to it signals from other audio devices.
